Danny Briggs called up for England
On Tuesday 21st February 2012 Danny Briggs became the first Isle of Wight player to earn a full England cap. 20 years old Danny honed his cricketing skills at Ventnor and is now a leadinmg player for Hampshire, being their youngest player to represent his county. Danny played for the England OD1 team v Pakistan in Dubai the first wicket of his Engalnd career came in his eighth over where he dismissed Umar Akmal for 12, soon to be followed by Shoaqib Malik lbw for 23. England took victory in this match with an innings of 241-6 beating Pakistan by 4 wickets, giving England a 4-0 sweep victory in their one day international series. Two days later Danny was named for the starting X1 in the 20/20 squad although he did not play in the match where England lost to Pakistan.
